Google on the Move: Becoming the Next Wireless Carrier

Google, the search giant is ready to pull the trigger. It means Google is all set to get into the wireless carrier business. The information is gaining huge spread where it reports that the search engine is about to sell its own wireless voice and data plans directly to the customers. Google is entering into the new world after striking deals with T-Mobile US Inc. and Sprint Corp. This move is likely to push the wireless industry to improve speed and cut prices.

The picture is not yet clear when the wireless service would go on sale and what would be the expected prices. It is expected that Google GOOG, +3.16% might start the service by limiting the effective service to various US cities and to users who are making use of its Google Fiber broadband Internet service.

The extensive move signifies that Google, located in Mountain View, Calif., is rapidly extending its ambitions far beyond Gmail email service and YouTube videos. T-Mobile TMUS, +1.40%, of Bellevue, Wash., occupies fourth position in terms of being the wireless carrier while Sprint S, -2.28%, of Overland Park, Kan., ranks third. Under different agreements with each carrier, Google would start reselling the service on the T-Mobile and Sprint networks as per the people who are accustomed with the plans. The search giant is estimated to reach deals to purchase the wholesale access to those carriers, mobile data and voice networks, further making it a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).These wholesale agreements are common, letting the sellers like Google to pitch the wireless service under their own brand name.

With the news of the introduction of the wireless service, Google is trying to push up their business to extensive growth.
